Yes. The NZ800 uses three third-generation 0.69-inch native 4K D-ILA devices, each with a resolution of 4096 × 2160. This means it produces genuine native 4K imagery rather than relying solely on pixel-shifting to create a 4K image. JVC's second-generation 8K/e-shiftX technology can then be used to further enhance perceived resolution and fine detail.

HDR is one of the NZ800's major strengths. Frame Adapt HDR Gen2 analyses HDR10 content frame by frame or scene by scene and dynamically adjusts tone mapping to make the most of the projector's available brightness and contrast. It also supports HDR10+, HLG and Theater Optimizer, helping produce detailed highlights, deeper blacks and natural-looking HDR images.

The NZ800 produces up to 2,700 lumens from its BLU-Escent laser light source. This provides plenty of brightness for large dedicated cinema screens while maintaining the excellent contrast and black-level performance for which JVC's D-ILA projectors are known.

The BLU-Escent laser light source is rated for up to 20,000 hours in standard operation. Unlike a traditional lamp projector, the laser provides consistent illumination over a much longer operating life and avoids regular lamp replacement.

Yes. The NZ800 supports 4K/120Hz input and includes a low-latency mode designed to reduce display delay for gaming. It also supports 8K/60Hz input via its 48Gbps HDMI connections, making it a versatile choice for both high-end home cinema and large-screen gaming.

8K/e-shiftX is JVC's pixel-shifting technology designed to enhance image resolution and detail beyond native 4K. The NZ800 combines its native 4K D-ILA panels with second-generation 8K/e-shiftX and an updated 8K scaling engine to produce an image with increased perceived sharpness and fine detail. It should be understood as 8K/e-shift technology rather than three native 8K imaging panels.

The NZ800 is designed for large-screen home cinema and supports projected image sizes from approximately 60 to 200 inches diagonally. Its motorised zoom, focus and lens shift provide considerable flexibility when positioning the projector, although the ideal screen size depends on viewing distance, screen gain, room conditions and the desired brightness level.

Yes. The NZ800 includes LAN and RS-232 control and supports Control4 SDDP, making it well suited to professionally installed home cinema systems. It can be integrated with Control4 macros so that the projector can operate alongside your AV processor, lighting, screen, masking system and other cinema equipment.
